アメリカでは暴動が起こっています。私のいたテキサスも夜間外出禁止令が発令されているようです。これはミネソタ州で起きた黒人に対する白人警官による事情聴取の仮定で被害者の首を警官が膝で抑え込んだために起こった窒息死だそうです。抑え込んだ時間は8分以上になったといわれています。
アメリカには、ネイティブという先住民のインディアン、そしてイギリスから新天地を求めてきた白人、その白人たちに奴隷としてアフリカから連れてこられたアフリカ系アメリカ人、そして南部アメリカからメキシコにかけて昔から住んでいるヒスパニック系の人たちが住んでおり、それに中国人を中心にアジア人が住んでいます。
それぞれの人種にそれぞれの特徴を持っているようで、働き者の人種、怠け者の人種、盗みをする、人のものは取らない、頭がいい、お金が大好き、病気に強いといった話を私はアメリカ人から聞きました。
私は日本人ですので、当然日本人として見られていましたが、アメリカ人の教師から「ほとんどの日本人は積極的に会話をせず、おとなしい人が多いけど、木下さんはよくしゃべるね」といわれました。その通りだと思いました。
以下のHPによるニューヨークのデータですが、人口比約23%の黒人が66%、約30%のヒスパニック系が26%の凶悪犯罪を起こしているようです。33%の白人は5.5%、約12%アジア系はわずかに2.3%です。

このような状況なので当然、職務質問も黒人に対して多く行われているようです。しかし今回のミネソタ州の職務質問は、3人の白人警官によって1人の黒人が抑え込まれているようで、その周りが危険な状態であったかもしれませんが、ちょっとひどすぎるかもしれません。
アメリカは銃社会で、テキサスではかなりの人が銃を所持しており、ピストルやライフル、ショットガンと複数の銃器を所有している人が少なくありません。私が2カ月住んだ南ダラスという地区は治安が悪いとされていて、夜になると銃を打つ音が聞こえていました。それは彼らの文化だと家主のおばちゃんはあきらめたような顔で言っていました。適応力が強いと感じていた自分でで、さすがに夜のランニングをすることができず、恐ろしかったです。
私がいた7カ月の間にもテキサス州では4件の銃乱射事件があり、10名を超える人が打たれて亡くなりました。なかでも勤務時間外の白人女性警官による黒人射殺事件もあり、場所もキリスト教会、高校のバスケットボールの試合中、スーパーマーケット内、ショッピングモール内で起こったのですが、私の住んでいる場所から非常に近い場所でした。
特に今回はコロナウィルスの影響で、たくさんのイベントが中止となっており、彼らのガス抜きであるプロバスケットボールやアメリカンフットボールが開催されず、ストレスがかなり溜まっていたのかもしれません。
コロナでアメリカでは180万人が感染し、10万人が亡くなりました(6月5日)。そこであらわになったのが貧困問題です。所得の低い黒人やヒスパニック系の人たちは感染したとしても十分な医療は受けられず、死んでしまう危険性が高いのです。病院の受付でクレジットカードと医療保険証を持っていなければ、治療を拒否されます。
だから、彼らが暴動を起こすのもわかる気がするのです。では、どうすればいいのか？ しかし、そんな答えは、どこにもありません。
ひるがえって、日本はどうでしょう？ やっぱりいい国ですね。生産性が低い…、効率が悪い…、いろいろ言いますが、それでも住みやすい、環境もいい、人間もいい、日本のいいところばかりが目につきます。
なので、そんな私は帰国後、5キロも太ってしまいました。

There were very close to my home.
Especially this time there were many events that were canceled due to the influence of the coronavirus, and it may have been a lot of stress because they couldn’t be degassing by professional basketball or American football games.
Corona infected 1.8 million people and died 100,000 in the United States (5 June). The problem that emerged was the problem of poverty. Black and Hispanic people with low incomes are at high risk of death due to poor medical care, even if they are infected.
